Moselle at the heart of the plastics and composites industry

A key sector in Lorraine: 185 companies, 9, 000 jobs and numerous technological resources. (source: Valoris Lorraine)

  • Moselle has a comprehensive sector ranging from the production of raw materials to the manufacture of a wide range of end products for the aeronautics and automobile industries, construction and packaging.

  • Numerous technical centres, and training courses for everybody from operator to engineer.

The PPE, POLE DE PLASTURGIE DE L'EST, develops processes and transfers technologies for industrialists working in the aeronautics, boating and automobile sectors thanks to RTM injection (Resin Transfer Moulding) and infusion.

REHAU is a world leader in the production
of polymer products for the construction,
automobile and other industries.

CREA DIFFUSION in Solgne
manufactures worktops and sinks using
a synthetic resin called Corian

A technology park for composites and plastics

The Composite Park in PORCELETTE has 70 hectares on offer to companies specialising in composite materials and, more particularly, plastics and chemicals sector for the automobile and aeronautics industries.

A non-destructive testing centre with an international dimension

The ISEETECH (Institut Supérieur Européen de l’Entreprise et de ses Techniques) non-destructive testing centre for composite materials is of international importance. It combines the expertise of the Pôle de Plasturgie de l’Est and the Institut de Soudure (Welding Institute). The technological equipment in the park will, among other things, bring to fruition two major projects at the MATERALIA competitiveness cluster - CAPSAIRTM (Light design of parts for aeronautics structures using RTM) and COMAC (Optimised multi-technical control techniques for composite aeronautical structures), thereby expanding the local aeronautics industry. Lorraine companies and colleges involved in the project include SLCA, an AIRCELLE subsidiary, CINI, VISUOL and ARTS ET METIERS PARISTECH.
