Ennery : the biggest road transport hub of Eastern France
Due to ist geographical situation, the Northern Moselle region (“Moselle Trough”) has become a major dedicated road transport hub of Eastern France (more than 400,000 m² of warehouses, 3,000 employees on the Eurotransit Garolor hub in Ennery), and more than 200,000 m² of warehouses in the surrounding areas of the Moselle Trough.

Multi Modal Shuttle: a regular containerized service in Moselle
The « Société des Ports de Moselle » (Ports of Moselle Authority) has initiated the Multi Modal Shuttle project. It is a trimodal platform with a capacity of nearly 170,000 TEU. The project consists in a regular shuttle service between the ports of Metz, Thionville, Trier and Benelux ports. Current studies aim at extending the project to additional combined rail connections with the PACA (Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur) and Normandy regions, serving the ports of Marseille and Le Havre.
Lorraine Europort : the big Moselle Port
The Moselle will shortly be equipped with a new big Port situated between Thionville, Illange and Metz, representing a global investment of 20.1 million euros. The Bettembourg-Perpignan railway line and Luxembourg air freight, especially Luxair Cargo, should also participate in this project.

Creation of an International Logistics Centre
► in order to improve the global visibility of Lorraine logistics training facilities, the Metz Engineering College (ENIM) and the Paul Verlaine University (UPV-M) have federated a certain number of diplomas under the banner of «International Logistics Centre" (CIL). This Centre aims at gathering all actors of the Supply Chain, thus generating the image of the Lorraine region as a Centre of Excellence in the logistics sector. The CIL offers a total of 4 training programs (2 European Masters, one Master Bac +6 and one doctorate).
The Belgian company LOGIFARE extends its activity in Moselle
► LOGIFARE will extend its Farébersviller unit by developing a logistics activity on site. The investment, linked to the recent conclusion of a substantial logistics contract, should allow the creation of 90 new jobs within two years.
Recylux : 200,000 t of waste by water way
► Recylux, an industrial recycling company, has decided to set up on the Thionville-Illange Port. They intend to recycle 150,000 to 200,000 tons of waste transported by water way. Recylux will invest 12 million euros in this new center which is supposed to start its activity by 2013, creating 60 to 80 new jobs.
