CHEMICAL INDUSTRY: Invest in Moselle’s chemical industry

The chemical sector includes coking and refining as well as the chemical and pharmaceutical industry, representing globally 40 companies and 2,800 employees in Moselle as of 2009. The chemical sector also encloses salt industry, engineering, R&D, conditioning, transport, whole sale and waste recycling. This means a total of 6,500 employees in nearly 125 companies in the whole Lorraine region.

BIOSOLVE CHIMIE Company is setting up in Dieuze in order to be closer to its European customers


The Israeli BIO LAB group is setting up a new production unit in Dieuze. According to Michel Ehrenfreund, CEO of BIOSOLVE CHIMIE, the company’s activity will be "the production and distribution of solvents of high purity, formulations and reagents for the pharmaceutical, bio-technological, chemical industry as well as for the research sector". The setting up of BIOSOLVE company in the former KOHLER facilities in Dieuze, allowing the creation of 40 to 50 jobs, has been accompanied by MOSELLE DEVELOPMENT AGENCY.

7x4 Pharma invests 50 million euros in Lorraine


Early 2011, the German 7x4 Pharma Company (Kohl group) announced its intention to create a medication blister packaging unit (individual + weekly) on  the Europôle Business Park in Hambach (Moselle, Lorraine). Thanks to this new system, precise quantities of drugs can be packed up as prescribed by the doctor. Thus, by setting up in the Moselle, the Group wishes to enter the French market. This new plant should generate 300 new jobs with a total investment of 50 million euros. At present, the Kohl Group totals some 1,300 employees and achieves a turnover of 920 million euros.
