Traditional education goes hand-in-hand with less common training courses designed more specifically for the region’s predominant industrial sectors.
The city of Metz is home to the Paul Verlaine University which has 16,000 students in a wide range of courses spread out over three campuses, in 6 training and research units (UFR) and 2 technical institutes (IUT). It provides a comprehensive selection of courses, with emphasis on vocationally linked subjects. Its ideal geographical location has also enabled the university to take advantage of its Franco-German aspects (centre of excellence) and work closely with the other neighbouring countries.
