The city of Metz is home to the Paul Verlaine University which has 16,000 students in a wide range of courses spread out over three campuses, in 6 training and research units (UFR) and 2 technical institutes (IUT). Its ideal geographical location has also enabled the university to take advantage of its Franco-German aspects (centre of excellence) and work closely with the other neighbouring countries.
