Moselle Development Agency has always played a leading role in France concerning economic promotion and search for international investors. Since 2005, at the request of Mr. Philippe Leroy, President of the Moselle Department Council, Moselle Development Agency has enlarged its scope and developed a strategy towards Asia. Indeed, Asia represents 40 % of the world's population as well as an enormous growth potential. Thus, three target countries have been identified : Japan, China, India.
As a demographic giant, India is destined to become one of the great powers of the 21st century. India will rely on its outstanding human, intellectual and technological potential, with the help of its sectors of excellence already recognized such as biotechnologies, pharmaceutics, development of software and space industry.
But on the other hand, India has huge needs in some other sectors such as energy, road, rail, air and port infrastructures as well as mass transport systems.
Due to the above arguments, Moselle Development Agency proposed to the Moselle Department Council to launch EITS, the first Euro-India business convention on transportation systems. This topic corresponds largely to one of the main competences of the Moselle Department, the Great Region and even the two major West European markets which are France and Germany.
The Moselle Department Council has approved and supported the Moselle Development Agency's initiative, and finally, the whole Moselle Department welcomes this ambitious project.
