DAVIGEL has chosen Metz for the setting up of its new logistics hub

Metz Technopôle II Science Park welcomes its first business location: DAVIGEL Company laid the first stone of its future logistics hub covering a total surface of 22,000 m² on 4 hectares of land. It is a transfer and extension of its present Woippy site.
DAVIGEL, a subsidiary of the NESTLE group, is a leading company in the sector of frozen and chilled food as well as ice-cream for commercial and institutional catering.  The new Metz site will be able to handle 30 tons of goods per day as soon as it will open, by November 2011.
Initially, 30 new jobs will be created thanks to an investment of 6.5 million euros, bringing the total number of employees to 95. DAVIGEL’s final objective being the creation of 150 new jobs within the 5 coming years in order to be able to supply the Franche-Comté, Alsace and Lorraine regions. DAVIGEL has already taken an option on a piece of land adjacent to accompany a possible acceleration of its development. This project was identified in the context of the promotional activities of Moselle Development Agency, on the occasion of the 2009 SITL Exhibition in Paris and has then been accompanied by the two development agencies of the Moselle Department Council and the Metz Urban District.
