ARVATO SERVICES is one of the 5 subsidiaries of the BERTELSMANN Group, a European giant in the media and communications sector with 20 sites in France and 8 in Morocco, totalling 37,000 employees, of which 9,000 in France.
The Metz Call Center was created in 2000, with a capacity of 312 positions (i.e. nearly 600 persons) ; its main activity consists in the handling of customer relations, i.e. reception and treatment of phone calls and mail. 70 % of all contacts are phone calls requiring immediate “front office” treatment.
The development project of the Metz call center responds to a number of requests of its customers wishing to extend the range of activities they entrust to this site.
ARVATO SERVICES is the biggest service provider of SFR on a national level. 5 sites, of which the Metz one, dedicate part of their employees to the development of the mobile phone offer, representing a total of 300 positions.
The project also aims to increase the site’s potential as well as its diversification in terms of customers and types of activities assigned.
The transaction will result in the development of a space adjacent to the building, covering an area of 1,000 square meters, comprising 96 positions, at a cost of € 1.3 million.
To carry out this project, ARVATO SERVICES will recruit 150 new permanent contract teleadvisors, making the Metz site the biggest French one in terms of number of employees (800).
The Moselle Department Council will allow a subsidy of € 100,000 to support this project (Departmental Corporate Location Grant - ADI).
In addition to the above mentioned financial aid, the Moselle Department Council has also provided a logistics support to ARVATO, through Moselle Development Agency, in order to facilitate the Group’s decision in favour of the Moselle site: initial contact with the managing director, orientation towards the best persons to contact, presentation of Moselle’s assets (labour force, training facilities, transport infrastructure, TGV high speed train, building solutions, …), organisation of meetings with all involved public partners (Metz Métropole Développement, French State, Lorraine Region, …), financial engineering. All these services were provided in total compliance with the confidentiality requested.
Moselle Development Agency also promotes the Customer Relation sector by participating in the VIATIS Club’s activities (Moselle Call Center Federation, presided by Mr. Offerlé), updating a detailed inventory of all regional call centers, making promotional brochures and participating in trade shows.
